Letter from EDF Power Solutions to TRC Mayor

Chief Executive Officer of EDF power solutions Australia, James Katsikas, has written to Mayor Webb in response to the Council’s recent resolution at the ordinary Council Meeting, 2 June 2026.

Here, they acknowledge the confusing position that Council does “not support pumped hydro proposals that are reliant on water sourced from allocation to the town water supply of Tamworth, Kootingal and Moonbi, while Council is also “supportive of our project in-principle”. Mr Katsikas also clarifies conflicting information in the media and the community.
